Bodega Bay Drive

My dear friend Mandy and I took a drive out to Bodega Bay today. It was beautiful out by the coast, with just enough of a breeze and sunny weather. Something about being by the ocean that makes me feel calm. Something about how vast and enormous it is, how it stretches on forever. When I lived in Mendocino County, I would take at least 15 minutes out of everyday (usually at sunset) to look at the ocean and remember how small I am. This was easy for me because my front yard was literally the ocean, and my backyard the forest.

Taking these car trips are what living here is all about. There is little to no nightlife scene in the area. There is nothing but nature, waiting for you to see it during the daylight hours.

If I take this new job in Philadelphia, I will trade that natural beauty for a thriving metropolitan city. I will regain a growing techno scene and leave behind pretty flowers and fresh air. I will give up 75 degree summer days and but gain culture, architecture, and history. Bust out the pros and cons list... is it really worth it?
